STANDARD I - CLEAR MISSION AND GOALS

1. Defined Institutional Purpose: Institutions are required to have a governing board-approved mission statement that aligns with higher education principles, offering clear direction and purpose understood across the academic community.

2. Measuring Mission Success: Institutions should define what constitutes the successful fulfillment of their mission and demonstrate outcomes that reflect this achievement.

STANDARD II - ETHICAL PRACTICES AND ACCOUNTABILITY

Institutions must operate with the highest levels of integrity, ensuring that their mission is upheld through transparent governance and ethical practices that involve all stakeholders, from the board to the students.

1. Governance and Leadership: The institution’s governance and administrative structures must be effective, promoting leadership and collaborative efforts to maintain mission integrity.

2. Upholding Ethical Standards: Institutions must consistently maintain and protect ethical standards in all aspects of operation.

STANDARD III - ENHANCING STUDENT OUTCOMES AND TEACHING QUALITY

Institutions should demonstrate a commitment to student success and teaching excellence, providing clear evidence that their educational mission is being achieved through effective pedagogy and measurable learning outcomes.

1. Clearly Articulated Learning Goals: Institutions must establish clear learning outcomes for all educational programs, enabling effective assessment and continuous improvement.

2. Support for Quality Teaching: Institutions should prioritize and encourage effective teaching practices that contribute to student success.

3. Creating Optimal Learning Environments: Institutions must cultivate environments that foster effective learning.

4. Availability of Educational Resources: Institutions are responsible for ensuring that sufficient resources are in place to support both student learning and teaching effectiveness

STANDARD IV - PROMOTING KNOWLEDGE AND INNOVATION

Institutions should foster a culture that values continuous learning, innovation, and social responsibility among faculty, staff, and students.

1. Commitment to Lifelong Learning: Institutions should demonstrate a dedication to lifelong learning within their communities, supported by all levels of governance and academic administration.

2. Integration of Broad Knowledge: Institutions should ensure that their educational programs incorporate a wide range of knowledge and intellectual inquiry.

3. Adapting Curriculum to Global Needs: Institutions must evaluate and adapt their curricula to prepare students for a diverse, global, and technologically advanced society.

4. Responsible Knowledge Use: Institutions should support the responsible acquisition, discovery, and application of knowledge by faculty, students, and staff.

STANDARD V - STRATEGIC PLANNING AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

Institutions must have robust resources and planning processes in place to fulfill their mission, improve educational quality, and adapt to future challenges and opportunities.

1. Future-Focused Planning: Institutions must develop strategic plans that consider societal and economic trends to ensure future success.

2. Resource Support for Education: Institutions must allocate resources to support the ongoing quality and expansion of their educational programs.

3. Continuous Evaluation and Improvement: Institutions must establish continuous evaluation processes that provide reliable evidence of institutional effectiveness and inform strategies for improvement.

4. Alignment of Planning with Mission: All institutional planning efforts should be aligned with the mission to enhance the institution’s ability to fulfill its purpose.
